WE'RE HERE, WE'RE QUEER, WE'RE FABULOUS
COME MARCH WITH US!

Sunday March 20, 2-4pm

Meet across the street from the Broadway T Stop (red line)
South Boston, MA

On March 20, 2011, Join the Impact Massachusetts and other LGBT and allied folks from around the region are going to join Veterans for Peace in marching just behind South Boston's St. Patrick's day parade. Join individuals and groups who stand on the side of equality and peace- and show your pride!

In 1993, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that the Irish-American Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Group of Boston (GLIB) could march in South Boston's St. Patrick's Day parade.

In 1994, when they realized they would have to allow GLIB and other LGB folks to march, the private group that organized the annual event canceled the parade for the first time in more than 90 years.

In 1995, the US Supreme Court ruled unanimously... in favor of the homophobic parade organizers, saying they weren't obligated to let gay people march in the parade.

Sixteen years later, the gays are going to stand on the side of equality and peace!

Are you part of the LGBT community AND Irish? Are you a friend of the LGBT community and any other ethnicity? It doesn't matter if you're Italian, Greek, straight, transgender, or any or all of those things. This is the year the LGBT community and its allies will bring the message of equality and peace to St. Patrick's Day. We will march with pride, and EVERYBODY is welcome to join us!
