Expanded description for the meeting

WHO WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?  Obama and Romney may have differences, but we know that no matter who wins the presidency, the White House will push an agenda that:
- Cuts social spending
- Continues the assault on immigrants
- Pursues more US wars abroad
- Continues to shred civil liberties in the name of "Homeland Security"
- Supports the 1% at the expense of the 99%

With emerging struggles around the world and in the US, and a climate crisis that produced the Hurricane Sandy disaster, we have our work cut out for us.  Building a socialist alternative to capitalism is more and more urgent.  And while they have more in common than separating them, the question of who wins the election will have a huge impact on the work of the left. Join the UMass Boston ISO for a discussion of the election results!

From the BP Oil Spill to the recent destruction of Hurricane Sandy, it's being made clear to millions that capitalism is on a collision course with humanity and the planet. The urgency of winning people to a project of revolutionary social change to save our planet from the disasters of climate change is becoming more and more important. Join us for a discussion of Ecology and Socialism author Chris William's article on Hothouse Earth: Capitalism and Global Warming and then stick around for a discussion on how to build for our upcoming forum "Frakenstorm and Climate Change".
